TOP 5: REASONS WHY I LOVE ADAM YOUNG

If you were to ask me to name my favourite singer of today, I would be in a dizzying mess because there are so many artists whom I love and look up to. Britney Spears for her addictive music and dancing skills, Michael Bublé for his incredible voice and classily-humourous demeanor, Lady Gaga for her uniqueness in her style and music, Beyoncé for her "fierce-ness"... The list can goes on for days. But if I REALLY have to single out one person whom I love all-round, it has to be Adam Young, the man behind Owl City. And here are my TOP 5 reasons why.

1. HE'S MUSICALLY TALENTED. Adam is not only a great singer, but also a talented multi-instrumentalist who plays the piano, guitar and drums, among other things. He also toys around with synthesizers. Although his first major-label release under his Owl City moniker, Ocean Eyes, received mixed reviews from critics, it did spark the mega-hit "Fireflies", skyrocketing Young to universal recognition.

2. HE'S SPIRITUALLY GROUNDED. Although he is busy with making new music, touring and being a star with a huge fan-base, Young still manages to be as serious about his Christian faith as much as his music. He also tends to share his spiritual musings on his blog, his latest being a sharing from an devotional Bible, with insight from Max Lucado.

3. HE'S SHY, BUT CLEVER. Having Asperger's Syndrome makes Adam a shy guy and "socially introverted;" so much, that telephone conversations still terrify him, according to Christianity Today. However, he is able to express himself fully through his music. Remember Taylor Swift's 2010 song "Enchanted" from her Speak Now album? Well, it's written about Adam, complete with the use of his favourite word, "wonderstruck." When he found out, he put together a response song - an ethereal cover of the same song (albeit with altered lyrics), just in time for Valentine's Day.

4. HIS MUSIC IS ADDICTIVE. Young proves that he is no one-hit wonder. After "Fireflies", he proceeded to release "Vanilla Twilight" and "Umbrella Beach" from Ocean Eyes. The ethereal melody of the former and the fast-paced beats of the latter makes the two tracks favourites among fans. And from All Things Bright and Beautiful, there's the upbeat "Alligator Sky", "Deer in the Headlights" and "Galaxies". His acoustic side-project, Sky Sailing, also offers some soothing tracks such as "Brielle".

5. HE'S HUMBLE. Adam is shown to be a very humble man, coming from little Owatonna, Minnesota. And it shows through his Facebook and Twitter pages.
