BRITNEY VS GAGA!: MY TAKE ON THE EPIC MUSIC BATTLE

It's the mother of all music battles, and it's finally here: Britney Spears vs. Lady Gaga! Let the showdown begin!

Britney premiered "Hold It Against Me" , the first single off her 2011 album Femme Fatale, on January 10th, 2011, on On Air with Ryan Seacrest, 1 day before its slated release date.

A month later, Lady Gaga released "Born This Way", the first single off her 2011 album of the same name, online.

For a case like this, I can think of 4 different groups of people: the Britney-haters/Gaga-lovers; the Gaga-haters/Britney-lovers, the people who love both artists equally, and those who like neither.

I fall in the third category - I love Brit Brit and Mama Monster equally. I have Britney's The Singles Collection which has made me a Britney fan, and I have both Gaga albums which I really love (although I prefer The Fame Monster more compared to The Fame).

And true enough, I love both songs equally as well: Britney's "Hold It Against Me" is a addictive, dancefloor-worthy number that can get anyone and everyone dancing at the first second, and Gaga's "Born This Way" is a modern take on the flourishing disco era of the 1990s.

Right, Britney may have used a dubstep breakdown in the middle of her song which have angered dubstep-lovers. And right, "Born This Way" may have similarities to Madonna's "Express Yourself". Also right, both artists have their fans and detractors. But all in all, both artists are unique in many ways, and both songs can be played back-to-back at a club without a riot happening.

So to end this off, I can just say this: guys, Don't HOLD IT AGAINST ME, 'cause I was BORN THIS WAY.
