Shortly after Bieber lost the Grammy for "Best New Artist" to jazz artist Esperanza Spalding last Sunday night, Bieber fans, collectively known as "Beliebers", whipped out the hate immediately.
Some vented their anger on Twitter (and maybe on Facebook), but some have brought it to the extreme: "Beliebers" hacked Spalding's Wikipedia page, got her details messed up (her middle name was changed to either "Quesadilla" or "Justin"), and threatened with the words, "JUSTIN BIEBER DESERVED IT GO DIE IN A HOLE. WHO THE HECK ARE YOU ANYWAY?".

But the Biebs himself was neither sore nor vindictive about his loss. He told MTV News, "I'm not gonna lie - I was disappointed. But, you know, I'm gonna come back [next year] and we'll take a few home." It's also reported that Bieber shook hands with Spalding, congratulating her for her win. He proceeded to tweet on his Twitter, "As for the awards...of course I wanted to win. Its been & still is a dream to win a grammy. Was I upset...yes. But I was happy for her also".
From this fiasco, it got me thinking: now, it's not the artists themselves that I hate; it's the so-called "hardcore" fans that I hate more. Have we come to an age where we're so obsessed with some artist or some band, that we get to the point of publicly professing our love in seemingly-impossible ways, like hacking a website and spamming another?
Some time ago, I was boarding a bus home where I notice a schoolgirl standing in front of me. I couldn't help but notice her phone. I couldn't keep my eyes off it. Maybe I could get my eyes off it if it weren't for the 10-15 handphone trinkets, all of pictures of a certain member of a certain Korean boyband. (I'm not stating names.)
Seriously, this has reached a new low with the "Beliebers". First threatening Bieber's alleged GF Selena Gomez, now this? I mean, if you did threaten Gomez, it's not like he'll suddenly dump her and go on a date with you (or something like that; I'm not really sure how it works).
Anyways, I might make a YouTube video about this, so go over to my channel and keep a lookout! In the meantime, check out my other vids and subscribe, ok?
