"Hi! You're the type we're looking for..."

So the other day I was walking to a shopping mall after school when I hear a voice on my left side.

"Hi," he said, "My name is John and I am from XXXXX modeling agency and we're looking for models, and I think you're the type we're looking for..."

He hands me his name card. His name was "Josh" (I'm not using his real name, for safety's sake).

I stare at the card when he continued talking. My mind was in another place. I thought, "Me - a model? This can't be possible."

When I got back, "Josh" asked me for my name and cellphone number. Although I was a little skeptical, I gave my details to him anyway. He said his thanks and we parted ways.

After about a minute I come to my senses: "Oh crap, what did I just do? Oh God, I might have gotten a job!" Yeah, I know I didn't get the job immediately, but I tend to exaggerate things a little bit for fun's sake.

I mean, you gotta hear it from me: I never thought of being a model. I never wanted to be a model in the first place. To compound that, I had low self-esteem in my younger days. But since then I have gotten over it and I love myself. So maybe one day, I might give modeling a go.

But here's the other end of the spectrum: it might be a scam. Although I never had modeling experience, I do have heard of agencies who scam aspiring models of their money. I do know that a legit agency neither request for money to pay for your portfolio, nor do they ask for any upfront fee in general. So I am kinda afraid that this whole fiasco might be a scam.

Anyway, I may not make my decision right now, 'cause my studies is my main priority at the moment. But who knows? Someday you might see me in some print ad or something. Hey, a man can dream, right?
